Relay For Life is an overnight celebration of those who have battled cancer and the caregivers who supported them. Teams are formed of students, co-workers, friends and family who walk together around the Sousa School grounds to raise money for the American Cancer Society. At nightfall, a Luminaria Ceremony is held where Luminaria bags are lit in honor or memory of a loved one. There are many fun activities and contests to keep participants entertained all night. The Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society will open its store for one day and then close for the summer. Many items are suitable for furnishing a summer home: dishes, glasses, silverware, pots & pans, decorative items, lamps, board games and much more. Proceeds benefit the Society`s work in maintaining two historic houses in Port Washington.

The Thomas Dodge House, circa 1721, is the oldest house in Port Washington and a living museum administered by the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Sands- Willets House, circa 1735, is the headquarters of the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society. From May through October, it is open for guided tours of its 10 fully furnished rooms on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, from 2pm - 4pm. Also included is a tour of the 1600`s Dutch barn.
